Nature

"The whole of nature is revealed through colour to the sense of sight". Goethe, The Theory of Colours.

Colour is the appearance that an object takes on in relation to our visual sense. It is the main protagonist in art and in our daily lives.

Colour comes from light. Light that strikes an object is only partially absorbed. The unabsorbed part is reflected and transmitted to the colour receptors inside the human eye. These receptors convert the absorbed light into impulses that travel along the nerve pathways to the brain, where they are interpreted.

This means that each individual 'perceives' colour differently.
